🔥OVERNIGHT EXPLOSIONS - “The IDF struck a terrorist from the Hamas terror organization who planned to carry out a terror attack against IDF forces in the immediate timeframe.” Associated loud explosions echo’d throughout southern Israel and up the coast.
🔸YELLOW LINE ATTACKS - Hamas sent yet more terrorists to attack the IDF across the yellow line in Gaza. IDF: in the southern Gaza Strip IDF forces identified a terrorist who crossed the yellow line and approached the forces in a manner that posed an immediate threat. Immediately after identification, the forces neutralized the terrorist in order to remove the threat.
🇺🇸🇮🇷SIMMERING - US vs. IRAN…
- FORCES ON THE MOVE - another F-35a squadron spotted inbound from the U.S. to the region. As well, two THAAD (anti ballistic missile) batteries were transferred by 16 C-17 aircraft from Fort Hood in the USA to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
- UK DEPLOYS BUT NOT TO FIGHT? Britain deployed fighter jets to Qatar, but has announced that are not intended to participate in an attack on Iran, but only for defensive missions in case Iran attacks Qatar or allies in the region.
- IRAN ISSUES - a sea warning (NAVAREA) in the Eastern Strait of Hormuz, off Sirik, Iran between 1-2 February at 0230 UTC until 2030 UTC, avoid due to naval live fire exercises.
- IRANIAN STRATEGY - Spokesman of the Iranian Army: ‘In the 12-Day War, we realized that hesitation and giving the enemy an opportunity is absolutely unacceptable. Instead, the enemy must be responded to immediately. This has been communicated as a directive to all branches of the Iranian armed forces.’
- DIPLOMACY FAILS - The Pentagon: Negotiations for an agreement with Iran have definitively failed.
- AUSTRIAN CHANCELLOR CANCELS - a planned visit to Israel for Monday. No reason given.
- TRIGGER - The spotted arrival of an E-11A aircraft to Saudi Arabia is the “last nail” in the coffin of failed diplomacy. Assets of such high importance do not leave secure European bases for high-threat areas unless an operation requiring their presence is approaching. The E-11A carries a system called BACN (Battlefield Airborne Communications Node). Its job is to connect forces that can’t normally talk to each other. Without BACN jets might not talk to drones, and coalition partners might not be able to communicate.
Similarly, a HC-130J aircraft landed at Al Mafraq base in Jordan. The aircraft’s purpose is to rescue and evacuate pilots and crew members in case of a plane downing or malfunction during airstrikes or special operations deep inside enemy territory, and is deployed at the forefront of high-risk military operations.
- IRAN COMPLAINS - (1) The Iranian Foreign Ministry summons the German ambassador in Tehran and informs him of its strong protest against the German Chancellor’s positions against Iran and its armed forces. (2) ranian Foreign Minister Araqchi: “Europe is setting fire and has now made a big strategic mistake by including our armed forces in what is called the list of terrorist organizations.”
💩HAMAS vs THE U.S. - A day ago Hamas senior official Mousa Abu Marzouk declared that Hamas never agreed to hand over its weapons. A day later, US envoy Witkoff is announcing to Trump that Hamas agreed to hand over their “Kalashnikov rifles”. ???
In discussions in Israel, the American’s are reported to have said: “The most likely scenario is that the destruction of Hamas will ultimately be carried out by IDF soldiers,” said an American source, “but why do you care if we start disarmament peacefully? Clearly, Hamas is stalling, and clearly wants to keep weapons, but what if, for example, only 10,000 Kalashnikovs are handed over and only 50 tunnels are destroyed without a battle, what does it matter? Neither we nor you are in a hurry. It will only save work for the IDF.” The world is not on your side, Kushner-Whitkoff told Netanyahu, but it is definitely against Hamas. Use that.
.. Related: IDF forces identified eight terrorists who emerged from the underground terror infrastructure in eastern Rafah (south Gaza). Immediately after identification the Air Force attacked and eliminated three of the terrorists.
▪️NEAR GAZA TOWNS - DON’T DO THAT! The heads of the near-Gaza towns demand an immediate freeze on any reduction in security responses and personnel in the envelope communities until a structured, professional, and coordinated security plan is in place - and note “Do not announce (security) personnel reductions on WhatsApp, do not repeat the mistakes of October 7!”
▪️KIRYAT SHMONA GETS AN AIRPORT - The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced the completion of the licensing process for the Kiryat Shmona airstrip. The airstrip is licensed for full daytime operation, and with the upcoming completion of runway lighting, the license will be expanded to include nighttime operations, which will make the airstrip an active 24/7 transportation hub. This puts the potential for direct international flights into the north east of the country.
▪️ELECTION YEAR POLITICAL TRENDS - The political parties are settling ahead of the elections and almost all the losers are from the Change Block. The Joint Arab List picks up 2-3 more seats, now polling at 12, pulling those seats from opposition parties. Blue & White is consistently polling below the minimum, and Yesh Atid consistently falls to around 8.
▪️TECH ECONOMY - Apple is acquiring the Israeli company Q for about $1.5 billion. The company develops artificial intelligence applications for the communications field.
